Paper Flowers

Not that paper flowers are an original idea, but this is my take on them.
I started by bending the stem of a floral pin into a loop.

And cut out 18 petals out of a sheet of scrapbook paper. I chose this paper because I liked the texture and transparency. It feels like fabric, but cuts like paper which leaves nice stiff edges on the petals.

I put a small piece of double stick tape on the bottom of each petal and then wrapped them around the floral pin head.

I then secured the petals with a length of ribbon and buried the sharp end of the floral pin into the knot.

And last, I opened up the petals…

I have a few birthdays, bridal and baby showers coming up. So I think I’ll use these ones to finish off the wrapping on some gifts.

Last year I made these ones which I used floral tape to secure them to floral wire “stems”. I also made leaves out of textured scrapbook paper.

I added the ghosts to the pots at halloween. The ghosts are cut out of index cards and glued onto skewers.
